Tom started doing voiceover work at the age of 15, in his hometown of Kansas City. By the time he got out of college, he had done several hundred commercials, and by the time he was 23, he was in Chicago, regularly landing National TV spots and other jobs. But what he really wanted to do was Cartoons. So at the age of 24, he moved to Hollywood and immediately started landing Commercials, Movie Trailers, Network Promos... succeeding in every area of VO work except animation.
After several years of auditioning with no results, he was about to give up on that dream when he landed a lead role in Iron Man. Then came The Wild Thornberrys... then The Powerpuff Girls, then Kim Possible... and, well, you get the idea.
Tom Kane's tremendous vocal range has led to a busy career. Every week, he records literally dozens of Movie Trailers, Commercials, Network TV Promos, Video Games and Cartoons, most notably as the Voice of Yoda in Star Wars The Clone Wars.
Currently, he has National Spots running for Scrubbing Bubbles, Cars 2, Walmart, Chrysler, Netflix, Nintendo, Propel Water, McDonald's, Kellogg's Corn Pops, The Smurfs, Nickelodeon... the list goes on.
In addition to voicing Yoda, he has voiced lead roles in The Powerpuff Girls, Robot Chicken, Kim Possible, The Avengers, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Iron Man, The Wild Thornberrys, Wolverine and the X-Men and many more.
Kane has been in almost every Star Wars game ever made, as well as games based on Star Trek, The X-Men, Batman, The Avengers, The Lord of the Rings and more.
An unusual area of Kane's work is voice-doubling. When celebrities are not available to do their post-production or testing dialogue recording, Tom fills in for A-listers such as Morgan Freeman, Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Liam Neeson and others.
He has also been the live Announcer for three AFI Lifetime Achievement Award telecasts, as well as the Announcer for the 78th, 80th and 83rd Academy Awards.
Most recently, he was chosen to be the voice for Walt Disney amusement parks, worldwide.
